Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are

It is important to us that we do right by our members here at Education First FCU. We work hard to be good stewards of our money by giving back to the community that supports us every day.

2020 Education First Federal Credit Union Giving

  • Hurricane Laura impacted the coast of our neighboring Louisiana hard this summer. We contributed $3,500 to support a local businessman who was cooking warm meals for families in Lake Charles who had received damage to their homes.

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, many found themselves facing new barriers, including a rise in food insecurity. To help Southeast Texas Foodbank with their mission to feed those in need, we donated $2,500 during their virtual fundraiser.

  • During International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) we asked our members to vote for local non-profits the receive a donation this year. We were able to donate a total of $5,000 to three worth causes. $2,500 to the Crisis Center of Southeast Texas, $1,500 to the Beaumont Rainbow Room and $1,000 to the Arc of Greater Beaumont.

  • COVID-19 has been challenging for many, especially healthcare professionals. To support those who work so hard to keep us safe, we purchased food to feed employees at Baptist hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  •  Hurricane Laura impacted Southeast Texas in 2020 and Entergy workers answered the call. Entergy worker came to Southeast Texas from all over to help us get our lights back on. In order to thank them for their hard work we purchased lunch for Entergy employees twice during the weeks following hurricane Laura.
